  I don't think I've got to seven 'favourites' yet. Most books are so so, only a few stand out. Middlemarch I think is the greatest book I've ever read. Brave New World is outstanding. 1984 very good. Quite liked Fight Club.
  What are your working habits when you write?

  I would like to entertain and perhaps provoke a few thoughts.

  Sleeping on the job.

  Too much celebrity and hype, but good books still get through

  On the sofa (small and not comfy enough to fall asleep on)

  I'm poor and I go out to work. So no fancy writers' courses for me.
